In 2021, during the Facebook Connect event, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the VR version of GTA: San Andreas, creating a buzz. However, three years later, the project has unfortunately been shelved. Here’s why…

On Meta Quest VR’s official YouTube channel, in response to a user’s question about the VR version’s status, Meta Quest stated, “The VR version of GTA: San Andreas has been indefinitely suspended; we are currently focusing on other projects.” This announcement has made the future of the long-awaited project uncertain.

According to Meta’s statement, the company is now concentrating on other projects, and work on the GTA: San Andreas VR version has been put on hold. While this leaves a glimmer of hope for future collaborations with Rockstar, the project has now become a major disappointment.
